S I N I S T R O
Coming from an unlikely source like Lisboa, Portugal, SINISTRO have crafted their way into the Portuguese musical scene with their groundbreaking & fully instrumental debut album from 2012 (Sinistro), a film soundtrack ambiance and landscape approach with a Floydian touch made them establish as a unique collective of musicians, coming from the underground in the past 10 years before their formation in 2012.
One year later (2013) saw the light of (Cidade) a conceptual EP about their native city of Lisboa, and the first time they introduced vocals into their already unique music, gaining praise from both national and international press.
It was not until 2016 when they got signed by Season Of Mist and produced the acclaimed (Semente) album, where they crafted and perfected even more their unique songwriting and became sort of a rock/fado (typical Portuguese chant) to so many. Having toured and acclaimed by the likes of Paradise Lost, Cult Of Luna, Mono, Alcest or Subrosa and performed countless shows in Europe and South America, and high profile festivals such as Roadburn Festival, Doom Over London, Graspop MM, Metal Days, Eistnaflug Iceland or Resurrection Fest.
2018 saw the coming of (Sangue Cássia) their 3rd full length and 2nd for Season Of Mist once more, taking the band into more undisclosed territory music wise, always perfecting their songwriting.
After 5 years rebuilding the band in the midst of a pandemic and line-up changes, band SINISTRO is back with a brand new album and a brand new label, finding home with Alma Mater Records, masterminded by Moonspell singer Fernando Ribeiro, "Vértice” the brand new album is due to be released on October 4th 2024.
